What are DBT Skills?

DBT skills are designed to help clients learn more effective means of managing stress, tolerating unpleasant emotions, navigating relationships in respectful and meaningful ways.

What is the hope?

Through skills training you will learn ways to better manage emotions, stress, and areas of relationships which lead to strife. Our purposeful hope is that these skills will also engage the redemptive work of the Holy Spirit in your life and foster a deeper relationship with God.

How to Start

Clients can express interest to their individual clinician and will be referred by their clinician. Mindfulness is a pre-requisite for the other modules. (It must be completed prior to enrollment in Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation or Interpersonal Effectiveness). Mindfulness is an 8 week group cycle, while the other skills modules are 12 weeks. There is expected work between groups, as well as an attendance contract.

Participants will need to have access to a secure internet connection with audio and visual capabilities. It is imperative that you are in a private setting for the confidentiality of all group members.
